Non-linear vibrations : Rotating systems, Rotor dynamics
The research carried out often combines calculations and measurements, and focuses on the integrity and aggravated testing of on-board rotating machines equipped with hydrodynamic or active magnetic bearings. Lateral instability zones, paths to chaos by activating nT- or quasi-periodic or even chaotic behaviors, and forces in landing bearings have been analyzed. The rotor-stator friction contacts have been implemented in the CAST3M code. In belt drive dynamics, material non-linearities, bending-tension couplings and non-circular pulley profiles are also taken into account. The models developed help optimize operation by taking energy losses into account, and lead to the determination of the most efficient architecture.
