The Contacts and Structures Mechanics Laboratory (LaMCoS) is a joint research unit (UMR5259) of INSA Lyon and CNRS (INSIS, Institute of Engineering Sciences and Systems).

Research at LaMCoS focuses on the prediction and analysis of performance and integrity of mechanical and live systems under static, cyclic, dynamic or extreme conditions from the component or component to the complete system.

LaMCoS offers a wide range of skills in tribology, dynamic dynamics, vibration, control, transmission systems, rotating machines, composites, innovative processes, biomechanics , Energy recovery and materials physics.

The laboratory is structured into 5 thematic research teams. Each team has the dual competence in experimentation as well as in modeling and simulation.

A national and international scientific influence enables these 5 teams, assisted by technical and administrative staff, to participate in numerous national and European projects : Institut Carnot I@L, Labex iMust and Manutech-Sise, Equipex Phare and DURASOL, .. and to publish in the best journals of the field.
