Joint research laboratory of INSA de Lyon and CNRS, and pluridisciplinary in the area of Contact and Structural Mechanics, the LaMCoS offers a broad field of competences in tribology, fast dynamic, vibratory, control, rotating machines, transmission systems and deep-drawing.

Three industrials chairs are held at the laboratory, one with the AREVA and SAFRAN groups, one with the SKF group and one with the SAFRAN group.

Their contractual resources, in excess of 2 million euros per year, help to make the industrial processes effective and respectful of the environment, particularly using innovative numerical methods (dynamic X-FEM, granulate X-FEM), closely related to cutting edge experiments
