Thematic and objectives :
 
The scientific issue of this chair consists in taking in consideration, from the design, the influence of the choice of manufacturing and repair processes on the lifespan of metallic structures and parts.
 
The lecturer and researcher team develops multi-physical and numerical research and methods to master the quality of parts and assemblies of metallic structures in order to guaranty their lifespan. This approach also allows to optimize the manufacturing and operating costs. This research serves as support for teaching interventions that educated future engineers to this problematic.
 
This chair is supported by the INSA Lyon foundation in partnership with the Carnot Institute I@L
